Welcome to Addie's Afrique Foundation, a beacon of hope and support for the vulnerable and in-need children of our society. Founded in 2022 by Daisy Addowaah Ofori, formally known as 'Adds Foundation', which was later changed to Addie's Afrique Foundation in 2023, a passionate advocate for disability and rehabilitation. Addie's Afrique Foundation is a non-governmental organization committed to making a positive impact at regional, national, and international levels.
To contribute socially to the development of the nation and beyond by assisting children with and without disabilities who are in need and vulnerable. The Addie's Afrique Foundation aims to reach hundreds and thousands of children in the next two to five years.
To work towards the financial, emotional, and physical provision of children with and without disabilities by assisting them with the necessary support to adapt to an inclusive society.
In 2022, Add's Foundation was established by Ms. Daisy Addowaah Ofori, with the support of key stakeholders who shared in her vision. Daisy’s journey toward founding the organization began during a beauty pageant organized by the Department of Disability and Rehabilitation Studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Despite the intense competition, Daisy remained confident in her ability to excel. However, as the event unfolded, her focus shifted from winning the pageant to a greater purpose: supporting children with and without disabilities.
During the beauty pageant, Daisy had the privilege of meeting a visionary, Mr. Clifford Osei Amparbeng, who was not only the event's organizer but also the Vice President of the Ghana Association of Disability Students at KNUST. She shared her passion for helping children with and without disabilities, and Clifford, moved by her dedication, offered his support. Together, they embarked on a journey to establish what would become Addie's Afrique Foundation, with Clifford serving as the Managing Director.
In 2023, Add’s Foundation underwent a transformation and was rebranded as Addie’s Afrique Foundation. This marked a significant shift in the foundation’s mission to become a global social cooperative organization and to extend its humanitarian efforts beyond the borders of Ghana and Africa. Addie’s Afrique Foundation is deeply committed to advocating for the rights and welfare of vulnerable children, with and without disabilities, especially those in rural communities.
In line with the pillars of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the year 2030, Addie’s Afrique Foundation does participate in a number of the following:
We believe that children are the future leaders of the world, and it is our responsibility to remove barriers and provide support, particularly for those who are marginalized and in greatest need. By aligning our efforts with these SDG goals, Addie’s Afrique Foundation is helping to create a more inclusive and equitable world for all.
This journey is not just about charity; it is about empowering the next generation to thrive, ensuring that no child is left behind, and contributing to the global effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
